Ileana Ciurea

Ileana supported the creation and ongoing evolution of the McMaster Health Forum and managed the implementation of business plans and the development and implementation of the Forum’s programs. She provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership support for the organization as well as the entities for which the Forum acts as secretariat, including affiliated national and global initiatives. She works with the Forum Director and the management team to advance the Forum’s strategic direction, ensuring operational excellence, securing sustainable funding, strengthening partnerships, and enhancing the Forum’s national and international impact. 

Her experience covers strategic planning, business innovation, development of large networks and implementation of multi-faceted programs. She has held various senior executive and management positions with healthcare organizations in Canada and Europe. Prior to her work at the Forum, she was Implementation Manager with the Guidelines Advisory Committee (a joint group of the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the Ontario Medical Association), provided consulting services for the Toronto General Research Institute, University Health Network, and served as Chief Officer for Medical Affairs and Interim Vice-President with Canadian MedicAlert Foundation. Her interests focus on generating action through high-impact policies – locally, nationally and internationally – informed by evidence and systematically elicited stakeholder and citizen insights. Ileana holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest.
