Aditya Nidumolu
Queen Elizabeth Scholars in Strengthening Health Systems (2016)At the time of the QE Scholarship, Aditya was an undergraduate student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program specializing in global health. After discovering an interest in healthcare economics, he began working as a research assistant with the McMaster Health Forum ForumLab in 2014. His research interests centered around how primary care models can be tailored to vulnerable populations, including persons with complex health needs and persons with mental illnesses. Additionally, he was interested in how entrepreneurship can be utilized to address healthcare challenges internationally.
As an outbound Queen Elizabeth Scholar, Aditya travelled to Trinidad & Tobago to intern at the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA). One of Aditya’s primary responsibilities while with CARPHA was to assist with a stakeholder dialogue on healthy food environments. He hoped to develop a stronger understanding of how primary care can be strengthened in different health systems.
