Anika Garg
Queen Elizabeth Scholar in Strengthening Health and Social Systems (2023)At the time of the QE Scholarship, Anika was an undergraduate student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) program at McMaster University. She also worked as a research assistant with the McMaster Health Forum’s ForumLab. In this position, she contributed to the COVID-END, Health Systems Evidence, and Social Systems Evidence databases. Through her involvement in population health research and the McMaster Health Forum she developed an interest in public health, evidence-informed decision making, and improving health systems.
As an outbound Queen Elizabeth Scholar, Anika travelled to Australia to work at the Sax Institute in Sydney, NSW. Anika supported and learned from the Evidence Connect team, and hoped to gain further insight into the process of integrating evidence into decision making to enhance health systems.
