Daniel Lu
Queen Elizabeth Scholars in Strengthening Health Systems (2017)At the time of the QE Scholarship, Daniel was an undergraduate student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program at McMaster University. Through his work and research experiences he developed an interest in interdisciplinary approaches to problem solving, public health, and translating research evidence into practice.
As an outbound Queen Elizabeth Scholar, Daniel travelled to the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore to conduct a research placement under the supervision of Dr. Russell Gruen. His project explored the commonalities and differences between health services research and engineering approaches to problem solving. He hoped to gain insight on the complexity of health system issues and the processes for addressing them.
