Michael Parvizian
Queen Elizabeth Scholars in Strengthening Health Systems (2017)At the time of the QE Scholarship, Michael was an undergraduate student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program at McMaster University. With a background in clinical research related to transfusion medicine, he hoped to broaden his scope of work by working to translate research into tangible policy for the sake of strengthening health systems.
As an outbound Queen Elizabeth Scholar, Michael travelled to the Sax Institute in Australia as an intern where he hoped to utilize his clinical background to aid in health systems strengthening. He was eager to explore the relationship between research, policy, and practice as it relates to varying health systems, considering the unique challenges present at each step of the process.
