Subhashini Subramaniam

Queen Elizabeth Scholars in Strengthening Health Systems (2018)

Subhashini is a health researcher who hails from Malaysia. She is a medical doctor with a Bachelor in Medicine, Bachelor in Surgery (M.B.B.S) from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, India and Master of Science from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). Her past research work includes both public health and clinical trials. Her persistent quest for knowledge in how to translate public health research into evidence for health policy has guided her towards evidence synthesis for policy making.

Subhashini works for the National Clinical Research Centre, an institute of the National Institute of Health, Ministry of Health Malaysia. Having practiced as a clinician, Subhashini desires to bridge the gap between health policy decisions and the clinical evaluation of implementing health policies in daily clinical practice.

As an incoming Queen Elizabeth Scholar, Subhashini hopes to strengthen her knowledge and skills in informed and evidence-based health policy decisions before she embarks on a PhD while she contributes significantly to the evidence synthesis of health policy making within the Ministry of Health in Malaysia.
