Tresha Sivanesanathan
GSO awardee in Developing Skilled Future Leaders in Strengthening Health and Social Systems (2024)Tresha is an undergraduate student pursuing an Honours Bachelor of Science in the Life Sciences program at McMaster University. She currently serves as the Senior Office Lead for the Social Systems Evidence (SSE) database at the ForumLab, where she plays a key role in maintaining the inventory of evidence syntheses for SSE. Her research interests focus on health equity, community engagement, and medical education. In addition to her research work, Tresha is dedicated to volunteering in her community, serving as Co-President of CAPE McMaster, a club committed to improving accessibility to post-secondary education in Hamilton.
As a Global Skills Opportunity (GSO) awardee, Tresha is working with the George Institute of Global Health, India on a review focused on social participation in health reform. The project seeks to identify barriers to participation and assess how current strategies impact health equity. Tresha is excited to deepen her understanding of India's health systems while collaborating with a group of amazing researchers. She aims to apply the knowledge and skills gained through her GSO internship into her prospective work within the medical system in Canada.
